Niykee, who has had an eventful few years, including being chosen by Snoop to sing with him on The YouTube Brandcast May 2013 Niykee maintains a consistent songwriting schedule despite this. The songwriting process is an inspiration to hopeful producers. Niykee constantly listens to beats and finds many which spark thoughts. It's only after five minutes when I'm able to determine if a particular beat is worthy of my time. Then I am able to see the concept of a whole song inside my head and begin to compose. I get the words while I'm sitting on my patio, playing my guitar. Most of the time, it's less than thirty minutes. Niykee has found that her experiences from her past provide an endless source of motivation. Even when I'm not writing directly about events that have happened to me all the trauma of my childhood and the loss of my sister end in being integrated into my lyrics, she says. The resulting music is shaped by my experiences and gives it a deeper significance, something I consider very important. I'd like to be able to hear my music in the next 20 years and be proud of the things I've written.
