Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco was born in Canada, and is now American. She has released many studio records. The music of DiFranco is classified as alternative rock, folk rock but she also draws influences from jazz and hip-hop. Ani Difranco is recognized as an icon for feminist music. In the year 1990 she was one of the first artists to create her own record label. DiFranco's parents were Elizabeth (Ross), a ex-student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Dante Americo DiFranco met each one another while students at the same school.
