Dua Lipa, an English singer-songwriter was born in London, on the 22nd of August 1995. Her self-titled debut was released in 2017, after she signed with Warner Bros Records. The album climbed up to the third spot in the U.K. Chart for Albums. There were eight songs released including Be The Only I.D.G.A.F. and New Rules (UK number one). The album also climbed to number 6 within the United States. The album, which is now been certified Platinum in various countries around the world, won her two Brit Awards (in 2018) in the categories of British female single artist as well as British Breakthrough act. Her parents are Kosovo Albanians Anesa Laxha, and Dukagjin lipa. Her parents are of Bosnian heritage by her mother's grandmother. Also, it is possible to find her family's roots in the Kosovo town of Peja. The two grandfathers of Lipa were historians. Lipa is the younger sister of Rina Lipa, and has a younger brother named Gjin. Lipa was taught to play the guitar and sing with her dad Oda. He is the singer/guitarist who leads Kosovan's band Oda. At the house, her father would perform his original compositions along with songs of David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead Stereophonics Stereophonics. Lipa began singing when she was five. At the age of nine years old, Lipa started singing at her school, the Sylvia Young Theater School. Lipa was featured on the hit song If I'm gone You by Alicia Keys, and Beautiful Christina Aguilera. Lipa has signed her first recording deal in 2014 with Warner Bros. Records. In August of 2015, her debut single New Love came out.
